National Secretary: the censors
board is actually a body that regulates and make sure that the right content
get out there for people to consume i.e. whatever movie, whoever anywhere in
Nigeria produces will go through the censors board to censor their film so as
to produce what is good for the consumption of viewers.
Bukunmi: what is your purpose for
the visit of ANCEDRAM Lagos state visit to the censors board?
National Secretary: Hmmmmm,
should I call it familiarization visit or a kind of we are just trying to
better the relationship Ancedram had with the censors board. Of course as you
know, ANCEDRAM is an association of Christian drama ministers and when we talk
about Christian drama ministers, we produce movies, we produce video content
that will go out to the public and most of our films goes through the censors
board. Now, we were actually there to…. We had a relationship already its just
for us to build more on the relationship. If you have a friend whom you’ve been
doing business together at some point you will want to review your relationship
to look at how well you are doing and areas you can better the relationship.
Bukunmi: Ok sir, if I get you
right, the visit is not for something special, it’s just for familiarization?
National Secretary:
familiarization could be something very special. Sometimes before now whenever
the censors’ board have any event whatever, they invite ANCEDRAM…

Bukunmi: (cuts in) ok…
National Secretary: …but in
recent time we realize that the invitation has not been coming as it should.
So, we need to know, what are the new policies they have, why is it that we’ve
not been having these things and at the same time, most times when our members
want to go to the censors board to censors their film, for our own record
purpose, members do go through the national to get some letters to the censors
board and we find out that those days they hardly ask for those letters and
immediately the man acknowledge that it must be an oversight on the side of the
person in charge, right there he called the person in charge and we have to
cement it properly that even before you can get your film censors which is a
Christian content, the man will give a call to ANCEDRAM secretariat and as soon
as the secretariat is giving you a letter to go to censors board we will give a
call to the man that so and so person is coming. In case you don’t do that he
will call us despite the fact that you are going with a letter, and so these are
some of the things we are planning for our national congress in Yola by April.
We got contact of the censors board address and people in Yola so that they can
represent censors board at our national congress.
Bukunmi: thank you so much sir.
Before we call it a day, can you please give us the list of those who attended
the meeting together with you?
National Secretary: well, my
humble self; the Lagos state chairman, the person of Evangelist Isaac Afolahan;
his wife, Sister Ireti Afolahan who actually went with us as well; big mummy in
the house, mummy Rhoda Yusuf was there, Evangelist Sunday Alelagba with his
twin brother, Evangelist Gab Oluniyi (AKA Omo o se paaro); the state secretary
was there, the one and only brother Oshodi David and….oh, I must not forget,

Bukunmi: thank you so much for
