GOFESTIVAL IS THE CHRISTIAN SIDE OF NOLLYWOOD - FARANPOJO

The convener cum festival director of Gospel film festival, Mr. Olaitan Faranpojo has described Gospel film festival as a gathering of film makers in Nigeria and Africa where Christian film makers are gathered to deliberate on successes, the future and to also create a forge ahead for the future.

Faranpojo who is also the CEO of Calibrators media was speaking at the state congress of ANCEDRAM Lagos state at Ajah today 23^rd of February, 2018 saying the festival is for anybody in the media, whoever, everywhere, news, Christian television stations, people making movie, Christian magazine writers, people doing radio drama, people using their phones and other avenue to make movies.

“It’s a gathering of People that makes film for the Christian environment, it’s the Christian side of Nollywood and what we do there is to give awards to the best film, best actor and any other area of film.  It will be coming up on the 30^th of May to 2^nd of June 2018 in Ibadan and we are having the 8^th edition this year. We thank God it’s always been a good story,” he added.

This year, he noted that the focus of the festival is to look at what is in vogue, the success the industry made in 2017 and the challenges adding that the festival will focus on the challenges and how to move forward in various ministries.

While speaking on the criteria for film submission in Gofestival this year, Faranpojo stated that the criteria are very simple; the criteria is that you submit your DVD and enter for the festival, six DVDs with the assurance that the film is done by whoever that is submitting it either producer or director, there must be no advert, the film has to be made between 2017 and 2018 and they have to register also, there are no restriction to anyone who can submit an entry, all films produced in other language than English must be fully subtitled and that entry sub mission closes by Friday 30^th march, 2018. He stressed that there is a jury set up for the film festival who sits to watch the films submitted and give their judgment on the films. The just has the final say on any film to give award.

The CEO of calibrators media while speaking on his association with ANCEDRAM disclosed that he associate with ANCEDRAM because majorities (90%) of the people that attend the Gofestival are members of ANCEDRAM. He added jokingly that he belongs to the national wing.
